News Director / Morning Co-host - THE DRIVE / B 104 - Cranbrook BC
NEWS DIRECTOR/MORNING CO-HOST
Jim Pattison Broadcast Group, Canada's largest western-based Radio and Television Company has an exciting opportunity to join our East Kootenay team in Cranbrook as News Director and Morning Show Co-Host.
Position: Full Time
Reports to: General Manager and Program Director
Responsibilities include:
-Managing a newsroom that strives to be a local news leader.
- Producing and assigning original local news stories.
- Anchoring newscasts on both The Drive and B-104.
- Attending municipal and regional government meetings and local events.
- Co-hosting a daily two person morning show on The Kootenay's Best Rock, The Drive.
- Working closely with the Program Director to provide quality, compelling content.
What we need from you:
- Previous broadcast news experience. Managment and On-air hosting experience are assets.
- Experience with Wide Orbit and Newsroom.
- Ability to develop local news stories AND examine larger stories through a local filter.
- A positive and friendly attitude that extends beyond the news room.
