Corus Radio Calgary has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Promotions Coordinator with in the Calgary office. Reporting to the Promotions Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing both station and client promotions and assisting all areas of the Promotions Department to grow Corus Radio Calgary’s profile and position within the community. The successful candidate will have an interest in representing Corus Radio Calgary brands, Q107 Classic Rock, News Talk 770 and Country 105.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop, construct, implement and manage programming and sales promotions including writing proposals, execution and prizing.
• Assist Promotions Director with oversight of major events for Corus Radio Calgary in the calendar year.
• Create dynamic revenue generating packages for sales team as required.
• Work as a liaison to station partners, promoters, events, clients, etc. to secure sponsorships, strategic affiliations, and execute promotions.
• Work with fellow Promotions Coordinators and Promotions Director to manage and maintain a well trained and effective station promotional street team.
• Manage all details related to trafficking and scheduling the station Promotional Calendar with Creative and Traffic departments.
• Participate in the writing of station promos, liners and imaging.
• Work with the interactive team and Promotions Director on all promotional assets including; Social Networking, Wireless, Listeners Clubs e-blasts and website updates.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be creative, outgoing, and have major market Radio experience - minimum 2 years.
• Thorough knowledge of the Corus Radio Calgary brands.
• Possess a solid understanding of the business of radio and selling media.
• Must be able to work before, during, or after normal business hours and weekends (as needed) as well as be ready to take on shifts with little or immediate notice.
• A positive, friendly manner and customer service approach.
• Create a positive atmosphere internally and help to create “culture” needed for teamwork, accountability, innovation, initiative and knowledge.
• The ability to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity.

Qualifications:

· Diploma from accredited broadcasting program.
· Valid Manitoba driver's license with a good driving record.
· Previous radio promotions/ experience is an asset.
· Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude and passion to succeed.
· Must be highly detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
· Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple deadlines in a faced paced environment under minimal supervision.

Producer Responsibilities:
1. Produce all the local commercials, promos and imaging for the radio station.
2. Work with internal and external voice talent to get the best possible read for each script
3. Strong coordination with Sales and Traffic teams to ensure that all commercial and promo audio assets are appropriately titled, and properly placed into the automation system on time and for the correct dates.
4. Ensure there is a balance of recorded voices on the air - Coordinate voicing inside the building with on-air talent as well as from external sources.
5. Voice some commercials as required.

Producer: Required Skills and Qualifications:

Day-to-day programming, including:

Promotions, contests, and features:

• Bring ideas to Promotions and/or Sales to discuss, as well as create ideas with Sales.
• Plan major promotions for BBM ratings periods.
• Create new opportunities for sales sponsorships.

Other Position Requirements:
• Minimum five (5) years experience in broadcasting.
• Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft and industry specific software such as Selector, Mediatouch and the Burli News software.
• Strong communication skills.
• Results oriented, analytical thinker with strong problem solving skills, planning, and organizational skills.

CHYM 96.7, CONTRY 106.7 and 570 News is seeking a part time promotions assistant to attending station events and sales remotes. Reporting to the Promotions Director at Kitchener this individual will be outgoing and able to work both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

Execute station events and on-site promotions, including set up of various signage, equipment, and driving of branded vehicles for CHYM 96.7, COUNTRY 106.7 and 570 News
Proactively engage listeners, clients and general public
Establish and maintain strong relationships with other team members and key partners
Set-up client remotes with all required components (prizing, broadcast equipment, vehicle and signage), overseeing technical aspects as required
Must be capable of setting up/operating broadcast equipment for Live To Air events, sporting events and other live broadcasts as required
Produce on location live broadcasts from in-studio
Maintain promotional signage and handouts, equipment, station vehicles and storage area
Maximize station presence and visibility at all events
Attend all major station promotions and designated client promotions as required
Attend and participate in meetings as required
Provide regular event feedback, including post-event wrap up reports

Qualifications:

Graduate or current student of Radio Broadcasting program or previous radio work experience
Comfortable with appearing on air during short hits from promotional locations is an asset.
Strong knowledge of Toronto radio is a must
High energy, outgoing and eager to initiate conversation with the public
Must be able to take initiative and flourish in a team environment
Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude and a strong desire and passion to succeed
Ability to work well under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
