Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will become responsible for:

- Component level maintenance and repair of broadcast audio equipment and computer systems.
- Assisting with maintenance of AM and FM transmitters ranging in power from 30 Watts to 50,000 Watts.
- Installation and interfacing of broadcast studio and transmission equipment
- Component level design and fabrication of interface systems.
- Assisting in broadcast construction projects
- Setting up equipment for occasional remote broadcasts
- 24-hour On Call to respond to emergencies

Qualifications:

- Graduate of a recognized Electronics Technician or Technologist program
- Ability to work with minimal support as part of a cooperative team in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of computer hardware, software, networks and audio basics

RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up and tear down of station events/remotes
On-site hosting of station events/remotes including conversing with the listeners, clients and sponsors
Handing out prizing at station events
Working closely with on-air announcers and staff from all departments
Hosting and emceeing of station events in front of large crowds
Documenting all event activities and details
Maintain promotional signage, draw boxes, entry forms and equipment including station vehicles.
Basic website updating

QUALIFICATIONS

A desire to work in radio.
Leadership qualities and desire to take initiative.
A positive, friendly manner and customer service approach.
The ability to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity.
Ability to think on your feet and possess excellent problem solving abilities.
Must have an enthusiastic approach to all activities and responsibilities.
Training at a credited broadcast institute or promotions/marketing experience would be considered an asset.
Must be a happy and outgoing person.
Must be able to work before, during or after normal business hours and weekends (as needed), as well as be ready to take on shifts with little notice.
Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Knowledge of basic website editing programs and other computer programs an asset
Must hold a valid drivers licence.

Ability to work well under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Highly detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
Must be willing to work flexible hours... we mean every Saturday (well almost every Saturday)
Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Must hold a valid drivers license and clean driving record.
Interest in a career in broadcasting an asset (but not required)
