Blackburn Radio Wingham - 101.7 The One, Classic Rock 94.5, CKNX AM 920
Sales and Marketing Representative – Hanover, Walkerton, Mildmay

I am looking for someone who is interested in helping clients grow their business. This person needs to be able to work well on their own with minimal supervision; you won’t be at the station office every day. However, minimal supervision does not mean minimal accountability, nor does it mean that you will have a minimal amount of support. We are a full service radio group with 46 full time staff. This person needs to be accountable to the station General Sales Manager and to him or herself. This is a commission compensated position and as such this person needs to be able to be responsible for their own time. This person needs to be organized, intelligent and great at working with different personalities. This person will need a reliable car and a driver’s license.
What are the specific skills required for this role?

- Motivation, Determination and Confidence
- Communication and “people skill” (the ability to listen and identify what someone else is truly saying, the ability to connect)
- The ability to negotiate and to be persuasive
- The ability to deal with rejection (no - is nothing more that deferred acceptance)
- The ability to work well on your own, employing good organizational and time management practices
- Work with a sense of urgency
- Work effectively in a performance evaluated environment that is rewarded by commission
- Work with good business sense and a professional manner
- The ability to adapt quickly and learn new skills
- The ability to determine client challenges that in turn can be solved by our services
- Problem solving

We are proud to be part of an independently owned radio group. We take pride in the service that we offer our listeners and clients. CKNX is one of Canada’s most storied radio stations. We know why we are in broadcasting and we love to have fun working at creating great radio.

If you are interested send me your resume quickly. This posting is in effect until Friday Sept 5, 2014. Forward your information to jirwin@blackburnradio.com.
