99.3 County FM 2025 Radiothon is the Best-ever Fundraiser Thanks to Community Support

June 5th to 8th fundraiser exceeds its target

Picton, ON - June 17, 2025 99.3 County FM, your not-for-profit, volunteer-driven community radio station is pleased to announce it has received $75,521 against a goal of $74,000, and donations are still coming. The station extends heartfelt thanks to you, listeners, sponsors, donors, volunteers and the community for the financial support of the County FM Wellings of Picton Radiothon. Donations included major support from The Elderberry Fund (Sarah and David) and 400+ donors across the County.

"Donations are a significant part of what keeps the station alive and well," says Craig Mills, General Manager, 99.3 County FM. "Thanks to your support over the past 10.5 years, we have entertained, informed, and served as your essential service. 99.3 County FM exists through the collective effort of the entire community. From listeners, businesses, other PEC non-profits and PEC musicians, to our volunteers, board and small staff – all played a key role in our 2025 fundraising campaign's success.  We offer a special thank you to our title sponsor, Wellings of Picton which stepped up to help us achieve our goal."

In addition, 99.3 County FM could not have reached its target without the dozens of businesses and service clubs, including:

  • Wellings of Picton

  • Carson's Garden and Market

  • Heidelberg Materials of Picton

  • JJIMS Leadership Coaching and Management Consulting

  • McDougall Insurance and Financial

  • Angie's Pooper Pumping Septic Service

  • Stormy's Auto Group

  • Bay of Quinte Mutual Insurance Company

  • Lockyers Country Gardens

"The County FM Wellings of Picton 2025 Radiothon's successful weekend was the result of many months of hard work, "Mills adds. "Airing over four days, listeners had the opportunity to hear an eclectic mix of music from our on-air hosts and musicians who volunteered their time – behind the microphone and behind the scenes. At the heart of this effort was donors' willingness and enthusiasm to support the station as it continues bringing Prince Edward County together.

"In particular, we also want to thank our Musical Director, Megan Hutton who secured and organized the more than 45 different, live musical acts that participated in Radiothon. As Honourary Chair, Jim JJ Johnston helped to raise awareness and promote this important annual fundraising initiative. We also want to recognize our diligent and much-valued volunteers, including our admin team which took phone calls, built the Radiothon systems, and publicized the fundraiser. Kudos also to our on-air producers, creative director, traffic coordinator and website manager for their diligence and efforts to keep Radiothon humming."

Thank you for keeping community radio alive and energized in Prince Edward County!
