99.3 CountyFM Announces a New Way to Win $$$

On Friday October 28th, County FM will launch a new online 50/50 lottery. The new lottery has been under development for over a year.

As our supporters know, 99.3 County FM is a not-for-profit, volunteer driven, community funded radio station. As General Manager Craig Mills explained, “Advertising only covers two thirds of our expenses, so we’re very dependent on other forms of revenue to stay on air. In 2021 we learned that many Canadian community organizations, including several radio stations, were using a new form of local fund-raising lottery. After further investigation we decided this type of lottery would be a fun way for our station to generate some additional revenue and for some lucky person to win one-half of the lottery proceeds.”

Over the past year Craig and County FM Volunteer, Helen Morris worked to develop the new lottery.  After some research, County FM selected Rafflebox as its lottery partner. Rafflebox is a well-established Canadian business that helps thousands of charities and non-profits to raise funds for their causes through the Rafflebox online raffle platform. More information about Rafflebox is available here https://www.rafflebox.ca/

With Rafflebox’s support County FM developed a plan for the new lottery and applied to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario for a license. The new lottery, that will be known as the 99.3 County FM 50/50 Cash Raffle Fundraiser, will operate under the license that the Commission granted to the station earlier this year. It will be open to all Ontario residents 18 years of age or older (Licence number RAF 1266439).

Entering the lottery is easy. Starting October 28th, tickets will be available online at  www.countyfm5050.com and through the 99.3 County FM website www.993countyfm.ca

Raffle ticket prices are 1 for $5, 3 for $10, 20 for $20 or 100 for $50. Tickets sales will end at 11:59pm on November 27th. The winner of the first 99.3 County FM 50/50 Cash Raffle will be chosen and announced on-air by the Chair of County FM’s Board,  Jim ‘JJ’ Johnston on Friday November 28, 2022, at 8:40am. The winner will receive 50% of raffle ticket sales for this draw.

During the open period of the raffle, 99.3 County FM will provide updates on the progress of the raffle on-air and on its various social platforms.

In Volunteer, Helen Morris’ words, “This is an easy and affordable way for anyone living in Ontario to support 99.3 and have a chance to win some money just in time for the holiday season. We encourage all our supporters to tell their friends about the 99.3 County FM 50/50 Cash Raffle. The more tickets we sell, the bigger the Winner’s share. This is a great way for County FM and some lucky person to win together.”

Special thank you to Terry Culbert for permission to use his artwork for our tickets.
