CJMR 1320 Radio is looking for audio experts with a passion for programming and interest in radio broadcasting. If you love radio, podcasts, or audio editing, we want you to apply!


Training provided for specific technical skills to operate our studio boards. In early 2023 we’re moving our operation to a brand new state-of-the-art digital facility in Oakville! Board operators will use the latest Virtual Broadcast Consoles to support the studio operations of CJMR (and sister station CJYE). The ideal candidate has some board operating and basic production skills, but we are willing to train successful candidates on our new mixing console software features.


Working as part of the Audio Operations Team, you’ll become an integral component of our live and recorded Programming department. We also seek to hire qualified staff when new full time job opportunities become available. For example, areas like social media management, video production, creative writing, promotions, and I.T./Engineering departments.


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Board Operator which includes playing music, commercials, local ID’s and newscasts on CJMR (or sister station CJYE). Smooth, professional audio mixing that meets the standards of a major market, ensuring programming is timed out correctly. Play all logged commercial content as required. Assist announcers and talk show producer when needed in producing their program. Additional production duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma from accredited broadcasting program or related audio engineering experience.

Previous radio or television experience is an asset.

Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude and passion to succeed.

Must be highly detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills.

KEY STRENGTHS

Able to multitask, communicate with staff and handle high pressure situations in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision.

Knowledge/experience of Wide Orbit Automation is an asset, along with Adobe Audition editing software.

Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.

A positive, friendly manner and customer service approach that will enable the successful candidate to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity.

Detail oriented, accurate and a quick learner.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated and well organized.

Creativity, attention to detail, adaptability and able to multi-task.

Capable to establish and build strong relationships with both co-workers and clients.

Communicate with clients/agencies from diverse backgrounds and focus on their unique needs.

Fluent or able to understand languages like Punjabi, Hindi, Gujarati, or Polish is an asset.

Live within 35 KM of downtown Oakville (location of The Broadcast Centre).

OTHER DUTIES

Audio Production: Record program hosts and advertising clients to create audio

content. Post-production and uploading to On-Air systems.
