Digital Content Specialist - Kitchener ON

Position: Digital Content Specialist

Location: Kitchener – Virgin Radio & Bounce 99.5

Salary: Group 3 - Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Will include working evenings and weekends. Overtime as required.

We are looking to hire a knowledgeable and passionate web professional. The Digital Content Specialist will be responsible for making our radio stations look great online while maximizing engagement and meaningful interactivity with listeners.

The Digital Content Specialist will work with the local stations, and be part of a larger digital team creating a healthy interactive business within our web and social media sites. This position’s focus is on content and content management. It is NOT a Web Developer position or an IT role.


§ Graphic design for radio station websites and social channels

§ Develop graphic content using brand guides for Virgin Radio and Bounce 99.5, including contests, concerts and promotional initiatives

§ Update community events calendar and website show schedules

§ Drive the station’s social media strategy i.e. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

§ Collaborate with Programming/Promotions to create a meaningful and viral database member experience

§ Work directly with various content providers and the national content team to acquire and distribute content

§ Work closely with all station personnel to disseminate permissions and workload as well as populate socials and websites with fresh content

Skill Requirements

§ Three years’ experience with a relevant Post-Secondary degree/diploma in graphic/multimedia design

§ Graphic design experience is essential

§ Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver

§ Video editing skills

§ Experience with Content Management Systems an asset

§ Digital Photography and photo retouching

§ Ability to identify and master social media trends

§ Experience working with HTML and CSS an asset

§ Demonstrated creativity in engaging users

§ Must be organized and able to handle multiple assignments

§ Excellent interpersonal skills and has a positive attitude

§ Superior time management skills

§ Must be resourceful

§ Ability to work in a fast paced, customer focused environment

§ Attention to detail is extremely important and the ability to work within prescribed guidelines
