About CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH:
The CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish program, now in its 58th year of operation, has become one of the largest distributors of toys to children in need in the Greater Toronto Area. The program also provides financial assistance to hundreds of agencies, ensuring that hundreds of thousands of children across the GTA enjoy a holiday experience. With the help of corporate partners, as well as the generous donations from loyal viewers and listeners, the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish in conjunction with Toronto Social Services assists hundreds of thousands of people in need through toy and financial support.
Job Description:
Bell Media’s flagship Christmas charity, The CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish, is looking for an experienced Executive Director to spearhead exciting initiatives to help enhance the holiday experience of thousands of children across the GTA. The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills, and will be passionate about making a meaningful impact in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic direction and vision to the organization, setting long-term goals and objectives that align with the mission and values of the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish.
Oversee the development and implementation of effective fundraising strategies to secure financial support from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, community partners, and government officials.
Lead and motivate a team of dedicated warehouse staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
Liaise with the CP24 newsroom and 104.5 CHUM FM teams to determine promotional strategies and requirements for the campaign.
Act as a spokesperson and advocate for the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish.
Monitor and evaluate the organization's performance, making data-driven adjustments to strategies as needed.
Identify and develop new opportunities for growth and expansion, exploring innovative approaches to achieve the organization's mission.
Actively participate in community events and initiatives, demonstrating a commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.
Critical Qualifications:
University degree and/or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the non-profit sector, preferably in a leadership or management role.
Experience working in the media or communications industry, with a focus on fundraising or non-profit organizations.
Proven track record of success in fundraising, strategic planning, and program development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
Experience with developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies.
Strong leadership and team-building abilities, with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software applications.
