Highlights of this opportunity:
Selects, plans and oversees all broadcasting television programs and schedules for the linear and OTT service as well as digital media components;
Oversees the acquisition of finished programs; oversees broadcast schedules; oversees and reviews all legally binding commitments and occasionally negotiates terms of contract;
In collaboration with the Programming team, identifies appropriate program ideas that align with APTN license ensuring appropriate investments and resources;
In collaboration with the Scheduling team, ensures that conditions of license are respected;
Analyses upcoming current viewing trends and takes calculated risks;
Ensures that APTN meets all corporate, legal and license requirements in the area of programming operations;
Monitors developing external trends, new technologies, policies, programs and issues with actual or potential impact for APTN;
Participates as an integral member of the Executive Management Team (EMT) and the Senior Management Team (SMT)
and contributes to the development of long-term strategic, business and financial plans;
Prepares and administers departmental annual work plan and budget;
Anticipates and provides the CEO, EMT and SMT with leadership, expertise, advice and solutions on Programming &
Your accomplishments and experience include:
Post-Secondary education in a relevant discipline, with proven, relatable experience;
Broadcasting and production experience is essential;
Senior Leadership experience is required;
Experience with an Indigenous organization and culture is an asset;
Advanced MS Office skills including Excel, Word, Outlook.
