Full Time On-Air Radio Personality

CKRW The Rush is looking for a bright, dynamic, hard-working individual with a fun personality that wants to grow with our station. Located in beautiful Whitehorse, Yukon - CKRW has been locally owned and operated for over 50 years.

On-Air Radio Personality Responsibilities

- Preparation for and hosting (or co-hosting) of a designated show:

o Spend time preparing for a well thought out show

o Relate, connect, and appeal to the target audience (adults 25-54 with 70% female audience) with relevant, timely information with an emphasis on local content

o Deliver professional customer service both internally with staff and externally with clients and listeners

o Ensure that all content is compliant with the regulations and laws of the CRTC and BSA and any other authority that has jurisdiction over the company

o Ensure that all content falls within the company’s rules, regulations and ethics as defined in the Employee Handbook

- Other on-air shifts and/or voice tracked shows as required

- Operating on-air board, automation software (WideOrbit Automation for Radio), and studio equipment.

- Protecting The Rush brand – respect the listener & represent the station and brand with integrity

- Commercial voice work

- On-location broadcasts (aka Remotes)

- Public appearances and community involvement, some of which may fall outside of normal working hours

Other Responsibilities

- Daily Music Log Reconciliation

- Update On-Air PSA sheet (including remote plugs, events currently being advertised & other legitimate PSA’s)

- Writing station imaging with input from the programming director

- Commercial Production, as needed

- Other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications for Announcer:

- Post secondary education in Radio Broadcasting

- Minimum 1 year of Radio Broadcasting Experience

- Working knowledge of WideOrbit Automation, Adobe Audition, and on-air board operation

- Music Master Experience an asset

- Excellent communication, interpersonal and computer skills

- Professional attitude and disposition towards colleagues and external clients

- Ability to multitask a variety of functions while maintaining a high degree of accuracy under pressure

- Skilled in social media

- Familiar with the “Hot Adult Contemporary” format

- Valid Drivers License
