INDIE FM: Local Radio Lab Inc. Launches Company-wide Rebranding

It’s officially time for a new look, and an updated sound! In 2023, our parent company – Local Radio Lab Inc. (LRL) – announced an agreement to purchase CIND-FM from Rock 95 LTD.

This station, more commonly known as INDIE88, officially joined the LRL umbrella in 2024 after the deal was approved by the CRTC. As we now prepare to enter 2026, LRL has made the decision to change the look – and in ways, the feel – of the stations to better match the branding that INDIE88 brings.

That means our other four stations in the company will now adopt the ‘Indie’ name.

“This rebrand has been a year in the making, and we’re so excited to finally share what we’ve been working on behind the scenes,” says General Manager Joel Grossman.

“Bringing our stations together under the Indie FM brand lets us launch a fresh talent lineup, refreshed programming, and shared contesting across the entire network. The rebranded stations include: 101.3 Indie FM Milton 101.5 Indie FM Orangeville 92.1 Indie FM Alliston 102.7 Indie FM Bolton.

“We’re really proud of where Indie FM is headed, and I’d personally like to say a big thank you to everyone who’s been listening and supporting us,” adds Grossman.

Milton, Orangeville, and Alliston officially joined LRL with the inaugural acquisition made by owner Christopher Grossman 2021. All three were purchased from My Broadcasted Corporation (MBC). Bolton was added to the mix earlier this year.
