Sad to report the passing of Kent Matheson. His sister, Brenda, posted the following today on Facebook:
The "Golden Voice of radio" has gone silent. It is with great sorrow that I share the passing of my brother Kent Matheson this morning from cancer.
Many will know Kent from his time growing up in Port Hope & when he started in Radio broadcasting at CHUC. He continued his broadcasting career in the Maritimes before returning to Ontario & his last post was The Moose in Parry Sound.
Kent is survived by his partner Darla Simpson McEwen , his daughters Kaylee Matheson & Anna Matheson & their partners , 4 grandchildren & siblings Brenda Matheson- Eakins , James Matheson, niece & nephews & cousins.
Predeceased by his parents George & Barbara.
