Morning News Anchor Simcoe or Muskoka region, Ontario

Whether it’s on-air or online, Bayshore Broadcasting believes localjournalism is an important part of what our stations do, and what our communities need.

We are looking for a great radio journalist to join our team, as a Morning News Anchor for our three Simcoe/Muskoka region stations - Max 97.7 in Collingwood/Wasaga Beach, 89.1 Max FM in Orillia/Barrie, and Country 102 in Muskoka.

Your position would include responsibility for preparing and voicing the weekday morning news run, as well as reporting and writing stories for use on-air and online. It’s a busy shift and requires someone who is organized, quick on their feet, and can write to a deadline!

We use Burli Newsroom software, so you’ll have a leg up if you’re familiar with it. Our website and social media platforms are a big part of what we do now, so you need to be very familiar with Twitter, Facebook, and the ins and outs of how journalism works online in 2022.

You must have a clean Ontario driver’s license (or be ready to do a lot of walking, but be warned – it snows a lot up here). This position requires that you live somewhere in Simcoe or Muskoka, but you could work out of any of the three stations mentioned.

We’d love to hear from you - tell us a bit about yourself and why you’d like to be a part of one of the largest newsrooms north of the GTA! Send us a recent demo along with a resume and cover letter to Ian Solecki, Director of Operations at news.jobs@bayshorebroadcasting.ca, and we’ll be in touch soon.

Deadline: July 22nd, 2022. No phone calls, please – only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
