Morning Show Host/Co-Host

 

Ocean 100 has established a foothold in Charlottetown as the Island’s heritage radio station.  For 17 years, Islanders have welcomed Ocean 100 into their homes, their cars, their workplaces – the #1 choice for companionship and the best music of the 70s, 80s and 90s.


This community pillar has a unique opportunity for both a Morning Show Host and a Morning Show Co-Host to join the family of Stingray Radio Charlottetown, and the family that is the community of Charlottetown.


We’re looking for individuals who understand how to connect with an audience and who love the music as much as we do.  You understand that this isn’t just a music choice – it’s a lifestyle.  And connecting with our Charlottetown audience means you’re authentic… likeable… you’re real.

 

Reporting to the Program Director, your responsibilities willinclude:

 

• Anchoring or co-hosting an engaging morning show each weekday and maintaining a high level of performance.

• Developing content, promotions and stunts to raise the profile of the show and the station.

• Working closely with the Program Director to consistently improve the show and ratings.

• VT shifts as required.

• Engaging listeners daily on social media by actively posting relevant and engaging information for and in response to Ocean 100’s audience.

• Public appearances on behalf of Ocean 100. This includes but not limited to concert MC duties, charity events, special station events, client events, etc.

• Hosting sales remotes as required, for additional remuneration.

 

The successful candidates will have:

 

• A minimum of 3-5 years on air experience

• The ability to relate and speak to the 35-54 target demographic

• Knowledge and appreciation for Prince Edward Island and its lifestyle

• An upbeat, calm and natural personality.

• Creativity, a passion for keeping up-to-date on current events, and the understanding that real life makes great radio.

• The attributes of a great team player

• The ability to easily connect and build rapport with listeners and clients

• Above average phone and production skills.
