99.9 The Bay and Country 105 have an exciting full-time opportunity for you to join Acadia Broadcasting Limited’s team as an integral part of our newsroom. Acadia Broadcasting is committed to news coverage in its communities with a special emphasis on local reporting. Ideally, you have a diverse set of digital and broadcast journalism skills. Our newsroom moves fast, so our journalists must adjust quickly, work well under pressure and have a demonstrated mastery in social media and multimedia gathering. Key responsibilities:
Generating original stories for radio and on-line that are of interest to the Thunder Bay community
Delivering quality on-air newscasts
Strong interviewing skills
Ability to adhere to tight deadlines
Enhance our local coverage with detailed stories for our websites expanding on our coverage on- air
Create visual content using photos and videos to enhance our coverage
Sharing our content across various social media platforms in a timely manner You will work closely and report to the News Director. Here are a few other important skills we are looking for:
Coachable.
News is not a 9-5 job so ability to flex hours is always important
Curious
Critical thinker
Requirements:
Journalism/digital media diploma, (or equivalent relevant experience)
Knowledge and Experience with industry standard software including Burli is an asset
A valid driver’s license
