National Advertising Coordinator - Remote


Overview: The National Campus and Community Radio Association/ l’Association nationale des radios étudiantes et communautaires (NCRA/ANREC) is a not-for-profit group committed to volunteer-driven, non-profit, community-oriented radio across Canada. We help campus and community radio stations get and stay on-air, help amplify underrepresented voices, foster and celebrate compelling local grassroots radio, and connect stations so they can better serve their communities. We currently represent more than 100 members, from CHMR-FM in St. John’s, NF to CICK-FM in Smithers, BC. We are seeking a part-time national advertising coordinator to work with the NCRA/ANREC specifically related to our CanAds program, a new national advertising network featuring 25+ stations across Canada. The goal of this position is to find new advertising opportunities for our member stations, while coordinating the national network for scheduling, reporting and payments. This is a part-time, 6-month contract with flexibility to choose your own hours and the opportunity for renewal based on a successful pilot. Our CanAds program is designed to drive up advertising revenues for stations by selling unsold advertising inventory at your station in big national or regional packages to commercial buyers. The coordinator will work with a variety of station sizes, locations and sales knowledge (as well as listener data) to execute a new national strategy. Support will be provided by the NCRA/ANREC Executive Director, and a committee of sales staff from members across the country. Key Responsibilities · Executive the CanAds national programing pilot by: finding clients, scheduling across participating stations, reporting and some financial accounting of campaigns · Maximize advertising revenue on radio and digital platforms, while managing key client accounts and senior relationships. · Work with Regional and national advertisers, with as focus on non-profit, charity and community-positive organizations. · Pitch ideas to new clients, · Prepare proposals that include a variety of radio ad lengths and timeslots, · Inform clients of the costs of advertising selected, · Prepare contracts for advertising space sold to clients. · Delivers the required promotional material on time and within the resources allocated.


Qualifications: · Minimum two years sales experience. · Highly responsible and reliable with exceptional attention to detail. · Must possess a strong working knowledge of the Broadcasting and Media industry. · Experience with selling digital media is an asset. · Work or volunteer experience at one or more campus or community radio station in Canada is an asset, with Experience with anti-oppression work. · Proven track record of achieving and exceeding goals. · Bilingualism in written and spoken French and English is ideal, though English required.


Wage: $40/hour [$15,000] + 15% of sales for 6 Months @ 15hours/week

Start Date: October 1, 2022 (Negotiable)

Working Conditions: The position will be mostly working remotely, anywhere in Canada.
