New FM Station Launches In Campbellton NB

Hits 100 FM has launched in Campbellton.  The new radio station debuted at 8 am with an introduction followed by its first song, as voted on by the community.  Listeners were offered a choice of 10 songs to vote on for the station’s first song, and the winning song, with an appropriate title, was About Damn Time by Lizzo.  Three listeners were awarded $100.70 just for voting.

Hits 100, at 100.7 FM, replaces the legendary CKNB 950 AM.  CKNB has served the area since its original launch date of December 27, 1939. CKNB-AM will be simulcast on the new Hits 100 FM for up to 90 days.

In advance of the launch, the radio station did an extensive research project involving over 300 local listeners to determine their preferences for their new FM radio station.  The overwhelming response was very high satisfaction levels for CKNB and that listeners wanted the station to stay as is, but on FM.  We have listened to our listeners and will continue to serve the needs of the local communities with relevant and timely local programming.

CKNB is part of Maritime Broadcasting System, which operates 24 radio stations across the 3 Maritime provinces. The Company is proudly locally owned and operated.
