About the team:

Bell Media has a unique opportunity for someone who loves broadcasting, has a passion for news and is looking to grow their career as a News Anchor / Reporter with our CFTK –TV news team. Located at our studios in Terrace, BC, the News Anchor / Reporter will lead the 5pm/6pm and 11pm newscasts covering the Northwest BC region from Haida Gwaii to Vandrehoof.

The successful applicant must be available to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Anchor the CFTK-TV weekday newscast at 5:00pm, 6:00pm, & 11:00pm

  • Line-up creation, editing, writing, resource coordination and other editorial duties

  • Editing/vetting content from throughout the day for broadcast and digital platforms

  • Assisting with breaking news production and special programming as assigned

  • Representing CFTK-TV at public and community events as required

  • Other related duties as assigned


Critical Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years newsroom and TV anchor experience

  • A degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary journalism program and/or related news experience

  • Excellent broadcast, print writing and presentation skills

  • A full and unrestricted Class 5 Drivers’ Licence with a clean drivers’ abstract is a requirement for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong editorial judgment

  • Knowledge of iNews, digital editing, and Polopoly an asset

  • Experience with social media for news content promotion and audience interaction an asset

  • Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to work independently

  • Ability to work well in a deadline-driven team environment
