Huntsville is located just 215 km north of Toronto and is the largest town in beautiful Muskoka with a population of over 20,000.  


Our ideal candidate is comfortable producing content in audio, video, and written forms, and understands the importance of social media and its evolving role in the news cycle.  


About the Job:  

This is a full-time news reporting position, and you will be writing and recording stories for both MyMuskokaNow.com and our daily on-air newscasts.  


Description:    

• Be an active part of the local community 

• Craft and voice a local and regional newscast 

• Researching and writing news stories for online and on-air broadcast 

• Reading local news on air 

• Contributing to and updating websites 

• News audio production 


Key Requirements:    

• Experience working in a newsroom or equivalent journalism background is an asset 

• You offer strong verbal and written communication skills 

• You should have solid on-air delivery skills with a desire to learn and improve 

• Dedicated to being organized 

• You have the ability to watch, learn and absorb the knowledge and put it to work as a self-starter 

• There are deadlines and you know how to remain calm under pressure to meet those deadlines 

• You must have a valid driver's license 

• Working familiarity with Adobe Audition, Newsroom and on-air software
