We have a very rare and exciting opportunity for a Program Director to join the programming team at 99.9 The Bay and Country 105 in beautiful Thunder Bay, Ontario. Reporting to the Station Manager, the Program Director will manage all programming activities for two stations in a highly competitive rated market and will be focused on coaching and developing our on-air talent, while maintaining the strength of our brands through engagement with our listeners. The successful candidate knows what great radio sounds like and will continue to build on our successes by working closely with our sales and promotions teams.

Core Responsibilities:

• Monitoring music, imaging and branding on-air and online across all platforms to ensure maximum engagement with our audience and partners.

• Maintaining, growing, and protecting our station brands in the market.

• Develop and inspire on air talent through coaching, air checks and reviewing performance on a weekly


• Provide programming leadership and delegate responsibilities to help develop future programming


• Develop and execute long-term plan programming strategies and revenue generating opportunities

through close collaboration with Sales, Promotions and News.

• Liaise with Engineering on all technical matters.

• Analysis and interpretation of ratings data, industry trends, and audience research.

• Execution of a daily on-air show may be required.

What we are looking for:

• Experience in a leadership and coaching role would be considered an asset.

• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in an on-air role.

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills that contribute to a positive, inclusive


• Ability to initiate and drive continuous collaborative improvement; ability to think creatively based on the

needs of the audience and advertisers through a team approach.

• Strong computer skills including experience in in Microsoft and industry specific software such as Wide

Orbit and Music Master.

• Familiarity with CRTC regulations and processes.
