Promotions Coordinator – Nanaimo, BC

An exciting opportunity to have the chance to be based out of Nanaimo while working with our Island Radio Promotions Department. Are you a positive, outgoing person who loves being a part of a team? This role will have you working cohesively with the Promotions Team. Collaborating to create and build on-air and online promotions, seeing them through from beginning to end, including creating visual graphics, managing websites and social media platforms.

General duties and expectations:

Work collaboratively with Promotions, Programming, and Sales to create promotional concepts designed to build listener audience and/or generate sales

Attend station and community events for all six stations and voice cut-ins as required

Assist with on-site set-ups/activations/broadcasts and staff/volunteer coordination

Organize prize sheets for the on-air team, assist with the weekly community calendar

Assist with managing and maintaining social media accounts creating content, branding, and contesting

Assist with station website maintenance and VIP Clubs

Attend weekly meetings that include setting goals and providing reports to the team

Help maintain the promo inventory for Nanaimo and Parksville stations.

Assist with training seasonal (summer) staff

Willing to work various evenings, weekends and STAT holidays.


Reliable, organized and punctual

Self-motivated, energetic, a people person with a positive attitude

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail

Efficient in Microsoft Office, web-based programs – willingness to learn Photoshop and Illustrator

Knowledge of social media and comfortable with posting and monitoring social media platforms

Must have a valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
