Reporter/Editor/Anchor, Radio (Terrace, BC)

The Reporter/Editor/Anchor position will be located in Terrace and will report to the News Director/Program Director.

  • Develop and maintain contacts over a wide geographic area for a diverse audience

  • Write, produce and broadcast timely, engaging newscasts for scheduled newscasts 
Report on local, national and international stories as required

  • Formulate and pitch story ideas beyond the everyday and obvious

  • Maintain knowledge of politics, current affairs, business, social issues and popular culture as they relate to the aboriginal and non-aboriginal demographic

  • Proficient with all social media including but not exclusive to Facebook and twitter

  • Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays

  • Must be available at all times for breaking stories


  • This is an entry level position for a second year or graduate broadcasting student requiring:

Broadcasting experience or related training

Ability to work and learn independently

  • Excellent interviewing and audio editing skills

  • Superior organizational and interpersonal skills

Ability to communicate effectively in person, writing and on the phone

  • A team player with a positive attitude and a sense of humour

  • Computer literacy

Experience with Burli, Media Touch and audio editing software an asset

  • Production skills 
A valid driver's license
