Description:

The Reporter/Editor/Anchor position will be located in Terrace and will report to the News Director/Program Director.

-Develop and maintain contacts over a wide geographic area for a diverse audience

-Write, produce and broadcast timely, engaging newscasts for scheduled newscasts 
Report on local, national and international stories as required

-Formulate and pitch story ideas beyond the everyday and obvious

-Maintain knowledge of politics, current affairs, business, social issues and popular culture as they relate to the aboriginal and non-aboriginal demographic

-Proficient with all social media including but not exclusive to Facebook, twitter and website updates

-Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays

-Must be available at all times for breaking stories


Qualifications:

This is an entry level position for a second year or graduate broadcasting student requiring:
Excellent broadcasting skills
Ability to work and learn independently
Excellent interviewing and audio editing skills
Superior organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively in person, writing and on the phone
Must be a team player with a positive attitude and a sense of humour
Computer literacy mandatory
Experience with Word, Media Touch, digital audio editing programs and Burli newsroom an asset
Must have valid driver's license
