ROCKLAND, ON — The Rockland Nationals are Bogart Cup champions for the second year in a row — and now they’re heading to Centennial Cup in Prince Edward Island, with tournament play beginning May 7.
To celebrate and send the team off in style, BIG-FM and GO-FM are hosting a community-wide “GO BIG Rockland Nationals Centennial Cup Send-Off.”
EVENT DETAILS:
What: Community Send-Off for the Rockland Nationals
When: Saturday, May 2, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Where: Clarence-Rockland Arena
Fans, listeners, and community members are invited to meet the players, connect with the management and ownership group, see the Bogart Cup up close, and wish the team luck as they chase a national title.
“We started planning this event before the team was even close to winning the Bogart Cup. We had a feeling the team would go all the way,” said General Manager Mathieu Manning.
“This event shows who we are — local, and proud to support local — whether that’s charities, businesses, or sports,” added Operations Manager Derrick Scott.
As for expectations at the Centennial Cup, co-owner André Charlebois kept it simple: “The only thing I can predict is that the boys are going to work their butts off.”
The radio group — 92.5 BIG-FM, 107.7 BIG-FM, and GO-FM — continues to expand its local presence, recently hosting a business mixer with the Chamber of Commerce and working on a fundraising effort for a local animal rescue facing rising costs.
