After 21 years as Founder, President and Station Manager of Ontario’s Christian Superstation LIFE 100.3, Scott Jackson has made the decision to step aside and hand the reins to a new generation. But Scott is not retiring or leaving radio completely; he will stay on at LIFE for now as a consultant, on air personality and various other responsibilities.
Scott started his radio career as a part-time board op at CHEX Peterborough in 1977 and has worked in small and large markets across the province and even outside of Ontario. In 1997, he returned to Ontario after a stint as Vice President of Programming & Operations at WAY-FM’s head office in Nashville – the pioneering CHR station in the U.S. Scott decided to take his knowledge and experience and bring Christian Radio to Central Ontario. On August 15, 1999, LIFE 100.3 launched in Barrie, ON and has since added repeaters stations in Owen Sound, Peterborough and Huntsville.
Now, 21 years later, Scott is ready to step aside, while still continuing to be a presence at LIFE. Says Jackson, “The start-up of LIFE 100.3 and being Station Manager for 20 years is, without question, the culmination of all my radio adventures.
Thanks Jim Waters, Don Shafer and Bob Augsburg for opportunity, hard knocks and guidance. And Scott Carpenter without whom, none of this would have happened.”
