Senior MANAGER, COMMUNICATIONS (contract position)

Job Summary

Responsible for the development of external and internal communication initiatives designed to enhance the corporate position of SiriusXM and keep employees informed and aligned with what’s happening across the company. Including but not limited to Public Relations and media relations strategies, influencer strategy, internal engagement programs and Executive communications.

Job Details


External Communications:

• Increase awareness of company activities/initiatives through earned media in online, social, print and broadcast media

• Enhance company profile with Canadian entertainment, business, lifestyle, automotive, technology and other media

• Produce and manage input and approvals for internal and external corporate communications

• Monitor daily media coverage and report on issues/trends/competitive news

• Work closely with PR agency on press releases, advisories, matte stories, media newsletters, pitching, seeding and corporate communications

• Oversee and manage influencer marketing campaigns

• Work closely with social media team on content strategies and communications

• Act as a public spokesperson with media as required

• Manage public relations and media relations related to proprietary CCD activities and sponsored events

• Crisis communications as needed

• Identify and prepare speaking opportunities for senior staff

Internal Communications:

• Develop employee engagement strategies to inspire our workforce, including but not limited to:

• Company All Hands

• Developing culture-building initiatives and content

• Regular CEO communications

• Advise and develop senior staff’s internal brands and engagement

• Work with Diversity + Inclusion Council to build staff communications

• Manage company’s CSR initiatives and corporate giving

• Collaborate on company surveys

• Find ways to keep our love of content and entertainment at the forefront for our employees


• Budget management

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Level of Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or Public Relations

Job Related Experience

• 5 – 7 years experience in a corporate communications/PR role

• 5 – 7 years experience building internal communications strategies, including at the Executive level

Skills and Background

• Passionate about working in entertainment

• Highly creative thinker

• Superior written and verbal communication skills and ability to write in multiple voices/tones

• Experience managing agency relationships or agency experience

• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

• Experience working in entertainment/broadcasting considered an asset

• French-language skills and familiarity with Quebec market considered an asset
