Senior News Producer (TV)

Prime Time Local News-Lloydminster, AB


Stingray has an exciting opportunity for a Senior News Producer at our television stations in Lloydminster. The successful candidate will be responsible for fulfilling the following responsibilities:

  • Building daily TV newscasts and set the lineup for local and national news

  • Responsible for newsroom operations when the News Director is away

  • Shoot/edit/write TV news stories

  • Contribute ideas for daily news stories for reporters and help decide on story structure. Continue to work with reporters throughout the day to make sure stories are on track and on time.

  • Vetting reporter stories

  • Involved in performance reviews and other managerial duties

  • Conduct Zoom and in studio interviews

  • Anchor our main TV newscast and train as a backup weather anchor

  • Post stories/news releases to social media

  • Attend news conferences

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in television broadcasting

  • Valid driver license

  • Experience with Inception News

  • Knowledge of Adobe or Final Cut editing systems

  • Must be eligible to legally work in Canada

  • Meet tight deadlines and work independently

  • Conscientious, dependable and detail oriented

  • A team player

  • Have excellent people skills, professional attitude & appearance
