[Victoria, BC] The Zone @ 91.3, in partnership with Peninsula Co-op, continues to support local holiday initiatives through its unwavering commitment to our community. This year, The Morning Zone broadcasted live from Mayfair Shopping Centre, welcoming monetary contributions and new toy donations to benefit numerous local charities spreading holiday cheer.
The Zone’s Toy Drive began in 2010, inspired by Morning Zone host Dylan Willows and his mother, Marie Willows, who recognized a growing need within the community. Driven by Dylan’s vision and dedication, the Toy Drive became a cherished annual tradition, uniting the Zone’s passionate listener community, affectionately known as “Zoners,” to bring joy to children and young adults during the holiday season.
Earlier this year, we lost Dylan to cancer. While his absence is deeply felt, his remarkable impact lives on. In honor of Dylan and his enduring legacy, The Zone’s Toy Drive has been renamed “The Willows Family Toy Drive.” This name celebrates the love and leadership Dylan and Marie brought to this initiative and ensures their spirit will inspire current and future generations of Zoners.
The Zone @ 91.3 and the entire team extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported this project over the years. Thanks to your generosity, this year’s efforts resulted in over $50,000.00 in monetary, gift card and new toy donations, making a meaningful difference for families in need.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to our listeners, community members, and local organizations for their incredible kindness and contributions. Together, we are keeping the holiday spirit alive and ensuring that Dylan’s vision of community support continues to shine brightly.
Thank you for being part of something truly special.
