Sechelt, British Columbia, March 15, 2024 – Vista Radio, Canada’s most locally focused media company, today announced the launch of its newest radio station, 91.7 ICON Radio, formerly known as Coast FM. The station officially hit the airwaves at noon today in Sechelt and serving more communities across the Sunshine Coast and on Vancouver Island marking an “Iconic” milestone in local radio.

91.7 ICON Radio is about the ICONS of music. Spanning music formats and crossing across decades of song libraries, ICON Radio is set to stand out by dedicating the airwaves to the legends of music in several genres. From the classic hits that shaped radio’s foundations, to one hit wonders, to unforgettable anthems, 91.7 FM will be a tribute to the “Icons” of music.

ICON Radio will be a community hub for music enthusiasts and the Icons will not be limited to the artists. The on-air lineup of presenters will include power houses of Canadian Radio including the legendary Brother Jake, Gentleman Jim Jackson, Barb Montgomery and Gerry O Day to name just a few. In addition to their own stories and connections to the music, you’ll also hear the artists themselves go into depth about their own experiences and memories of the timeless playlist of ICON Radio.
