Bayshore Broadcasting operates 9 radio stations across Southern and Central Ontario. We have always believed that local news matters, and we are proud to continue to be the voice of record on the local issues that matter to our listeners.
Bayshore is currently seeking a weekend morning news anchor for our stations serving Simcoe County & Muskoka. This is a part-time position and is a great opportunity for someone just beginning their career in radio news, or for a newsroom veteran looking to find a more relaxed pace in one of the most beautiful parts of Ontario. The position can be done from any of our stations in Collingwood, Orillia, Bracebridge, or Shelburne (or could potentially be done remotely in the right circumstances).
Sound like you? Read on!
You would be responsible for:
Anchoring weekend newscasts on multiple stations
Writing stories for use on-air and for posting on our website/social media platforms
Potentially covering other anchoring shifts in the newsroom during vacations, illnesses, etc.
Ideally you have spent some time in a radio newsroom before – reporting, writing, and reading newscasts.
We use Burli Newsroom software, so you’ll have a leg up if you’re familiar with it. Our website and social media platforms are a big part of what we do now, so you need to be very familiar with Twitter, Facebook, and the ins and outs of how journalism works online in 2021.
Is this the right gig for you? Send us a recent demo along with a resume and cover letter to Ian Solecki, Director of Operations, at firstname.lastname@example.org
This position is open now, so send us your application as soon as possible.
