BayFM Radiothon Raises Over Half A Million For Local Healthcare

One of the most successful Radiothons to date has raised more than half a million dollars in support of healthcare in western Newfoundland.
The 36th Annual Radiothon in support of the Western Regional Hospital Foundation hit the airwaves on 100.1 BayFM (CKVB-FM) in Corner Brook, NL on Friday, October 2 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Throughout the day, volunteers, healthcare professionals, businesses, service groups, and individuals took to the microphones to share stories, make donations and help make the annual event another tremendous success.
By the end of the broadcast, more than $344,000 had been pledged by the community. Western Regional Hospital Foundation Executive Director Suzanne Carey announced the final total, which, with an additional $200,000 contribution from the provincial government, reached $544,377.95.
Radiothon has become a longstanding tradition in western Newfoundland. Over its 36-year history, the event has raised millions of dollars to help purchase vital medical equipment and support the healthcare needs of people throughout the west coast. The fundraiser originally aired on CFCB for decades before making the move to BayFM in 2023.
BayFM, the region's only community radio station, was proud to once again host the annual Radiothon and help bring the community together for a cause that benefits people throughout the area.
