Chantal Desjardins Joins Energy 106 for Afternoon Drive

Winnipeg broadcaster returns home following two decades in Montreal.

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — September 21, 2026 — Evanov Communications is pleased to announce that television and radio host, comedian and voice actor Chantal Desjardins is joining ENERGY 106 (CHWE-FM) as the station's new Afternoon Drive host. She begins Monday, September 21, and will be heard weekdays from 2 to 6 p.m. CT.

Originally from Winnipeg, Desjardins has spent the past 20 years in Montreal, where she most recently co-hosted mornings on the legendary CHOM 97.7. She was also heard on Virgin Radio Montreal and CJAD 800.

Desjardins also brings extensive television experience to ENERGY 106. Her work includes anchoring Montreal Canadiens broadcasts on Sportsnet, hosting Breakfast Television, and reporting for CTV Montreal. "I'm so excited to be back in my hometown," said Desjardins. "I've had an amazing time in Montreal and Toronto, doing stand-up, television and radio, but there's nothing like coming home, especially at this stage of my life and career. My kids will get to spend time with their grandparents, and I get to spend every afternoon yakking on air to my favourite people—Winnipeggers!"
