Cornwall came through in droves. Even during these economic and tariff times, Cornwallites showed their love with a record $200,000 in donations for the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation. What does that mean? The CCHF was centred on securing new MRI technology, specifically for breast cancer patients. Currently, one would have to travel an hour and a half to Ottawa for the specialized testing.
A day like no other. The $200,000 raised set a new performance benchmark for the Corus Caring Hearts Radiothon. In 2023, the radiothon raised $157,860, which remained the top performing radiothon until this year.
Read more about it here: https://www.standard-freeholder.com/news/corus-caring-hearts-radiothon-record-cornwall-hospital. We made the front page!! It's stories like these that emphasizes the importance of locality and how the community can give back.
Endless hours of planning went into this. It took a village of epic proportions. Our fearless leader, Shannon, took the reigns like no other. Without her spearheading and organization, we wouldn't have come close to any goals, let alone surpassing and smashing one. She has only missed one Radiothon in 20 years!! Jeff and Mike who assisted in production. They were on the ball with their hard work and determination to make this all happen. Cairo and Dan, two words, thirteen hours. I challenge any talent to do the same. They both showed up the next morning knowing that the work continues on. Incredible. Denis and Eric, who even stuck around to help tear down, unbelievable support from sales in every which way. Trevor on the tech side for making sure both stations were still on the air and beyond. Even Steve dropped by to say hi!! The list is endless, and so was the generosity of our Fresh and boom audience.
