Lunenburg Regional Emergency Management Organization (REMO) is proud to announce a new partnership with 107.9 Go Rock to help keep the community safe and informed during emergencies and severe weather events.

As REMO’s official radio partner, 107.9 Go Rock will broadcast critical updates during an emergency at the top and bottom of the hour – even during power outages – so residents can stay connected when it matters most.

Official updates will continue to be posted on LunenburgREMO.ca and the REMO Facebook page, and residents will continue to receive alerts on their phones via the national Alert Ready system. The addition of 107.9 Go Rock broadcasts gives Lunenburg County residents another reliable way to receive critical information when they can’t get online. All updates on 107.9 Go Rock will be managed directly by REMO staff, so residents can count on information that’s trustworthy and timely.

By linking officially with REMO, the radio station strengthens its role as a community hub, not just for entertainment, but also for public safety. “Go Rock has always believed local radio is more than music, it’s a lifeline,” said Scott Clements, owner of 107.9 Go Rock. “When hurricanes hit, when fires spread, or when ice storms knock out power, people need a trusted source of information no mater what time of day. We are committed to serving our community, and partnering with REMO ensures that our listeners can count on us when they need it most.”

Mayor David Mitchell, Chair of REMO Advisory said, “This new partnership will help to ensure that residents and the business community here in Lunenburg County have access to critical information and updates as quickly as possible during a wide-ranging emergency. While folks are often reliant on online content and digital updates, communicating info promptly via the radio during a crisis ensures we have the reach needed to connect with all of our area's residents.”

This partnership is supported by the District of Lunenburg, Municipality of Chester, Town of Bridgewater, Town of Lunenburg, and Town of Mahone Bay.
