WAVE 98.3 Receives CRTC Approval to Expand Across Metro Vancouver

WAVE 98.3, Vancouver's Coolest Vibe, is pleased to announce that the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has approved the station's application to launch a new FM transmitter on 98.7 FM, significantly expanding coverage across the eastern communities of Metro Vancouver.

Scheduled to launch in Spring 2027, the new signal will bring WAVE's unique blend of smooth jazz, contemporary favourites and Canadian artists to listeners throughout the Tri-Cities and communities east of Highway 1, while continuing to serve Vancouver on 98.3 FM.

"For years, we've heard from people who loved the music but simply couldn't receive us once they travelled east," said Doug Kirk, President Durham Radio Inc/WAVE 98.3. "This expansion means more listeners can finally enjoy the station clearly, and it gives even more exposure to the outstanding Canadian artists we proudly feature every day."

The stronger regional signal will allow WAVE to better connect with listeners throughout Metro Vancouver while continuing its commitment to showcasing Canadian musical talent and supporting the local arts community.

Beginning in Spring 2027:
