Morning News Anchor / Reporter - Alberta

Blackgold Broadcasting owns and operates the only local radio stations serving Leduc, Stony Plain and Ponoka, Alberta. Our audience has a huge appetite for local news and we’re searching for our next Morning News Anchor / Reporter to report breaking stories and relate the days news on the radio.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Prepare and Anchor Newscasts on our three radio stations.

- Report live, breaking news stories as they occur in our communities.

- Source and write local news stories through established contacts and all available sources.

- Monitor police and other emergency services as sources of news.

- Attend local meetings including school boards, city councils, municipal districts, court cases, etc. and write local news stories from the information presented at the meetings.

- Re-write appropriate regional, national and international news that is relevant to our local audience.

This position is based in Leduc, Alberta. Candidates will be graduates of a recognized broadcast journalism program and/or have previous radio newsroom experience.
