What You'll Do:

• Lead and mentor a dynamic news team, inspiring excellence and innovation.

• Develop and oversee editorial schedules, including regular air-checks and one-on-one coaching.

• Collaborate closely with the Senior News Director for B.C. to ensure newscasts and digital stories meet journalism standards.

• Guide reporters in generating compelling local stories and effectively localizing national/international content.

• Anchor and edit news, sports, and weather segments as needed.

• Leverage social media strategically to expand audience reach and enhance community engagement.

• Represent Vista Radio positively at community and station events, strengthening our local presence.

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum of five years full-time newsroom experience; previous management experience highly desirable.

• Exceptional communication skills.

• Strong on-air presence with professional delivery.

• Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Premiere, KLZ Newsroom, Airtable, and WordPress is an asset.

• A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, independently and collaboratively.

• Valid driver's license.
