Position: Multi Media Journalist / Anchor

Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Salary: Group 6, Unifor 899

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week – shift pattern may contain weekends, early mornings and evenings. Overtime as required.

Responsibilities:

Working in a leadership role in the CTV Edmonton Newsroom, this multi-talented and experienced individual will report to the Director, News & Public Affairs and be responsible for:

Anchoring the 11:30pm newscast.

Occasionally anchoring other newscasts as required, including but not limited to CTV Morning Live, CTV News at Noon, CTV News at 5 and CTV News at 6

Generating strong story ideas.

Producing and writing for the 11:30pm newscast.

Representing CTV at community and charity events and making various public appearances.

Other duties as assigned, which may include interviewing or reporting live.

Qualifications:

5 years’ experience anchoring a newscast.

Post-Secondary Education in Broadcasting or Journalism.

Knowledge of television production procedures, terminology and equipment capabilities.

Experience with breaking news. Strong interviewing and live skills.

Exceptional organization, leadership, concentration and communication skills

Demonstrated ability to react quickly and productively in a changing environment requiring immediate decision-making.

Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and work with minimal supervision.

Knowledge of Adobe and Velocity editing software.

Knowledge of Gateway and iNews
