99.3 CountyFM's "Grown Here" Radiothon Ripens with Age
12th Annual Fundraising Campaign runs June 4 to 7, 2026
It's been 11 years since 99.3 CountyFM's hit the airwaves. A non-profit community radio station, CountyFM is your direct link to all things community. The radio station was built here — by people who live here and care about things that matter here. From news and music, and local stories, voices and conversations, to everything in between.
No surprise that the station's annual fundraising campaign, which kicks off on June 4th for four days, will centre around the theme: Grown Here. It's a theme that reflects the County's agricultural roots, that sense of belonging and stewardship and how we can all work together to maintain a locally grown connection to Prince Edward County.
Spearheading this year's Radiothon campaign is Honorary Chair, Jane Thompson.
As a retired teacher and leader of the Prince Edward 4H Association, Jane has been a staunch advocate for the farming community, and a strong supporter of youth and many other non-profit organizations in the County. Both she and her husband John own and operate a century old family farm that has evolved from dairy to poultry. In 2023, they were inducted into the Quinte Agricultural Wall of Fame. Jane is also well known a host on "The County Grows" program on 99.3 CountyFM where she interviews experts in agriculture and food.
Craig Mills, General Manager of 99.3 CountyFM says, "Off the farm, Jane has planted and nurtured seeds in educatioto n, activism and community involvement for youth and adults alike, making Prince Edward County and 99.3 CountyFM a better place."We are thrilled that she has taken on the role of Honorary Chair, and know that Jane will put in and exemplary effort into driving our fundraising efforts.
Megan Hutton, Musical Director of Radiothon 2026, is equally thrilled with this year's theme.
"Grown Here captures the essence of what we are all about in terms of our support of PEC's critical agricultural community, as well as to our daily service to the community, to the arts, to small business, and to our own Home Grown Musicians. A special salute to all of the artists who have volunteered their talent to date for Radiothon 2026"
