FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Acadia Broadcasting Relaunches in Halifax with the All-New Country 103-5!
Live, local, and built on the hits—Halifax now has a fresh country experience.
Halifax, Nova Scotia — March 23, 2026 — Acadia Broadcasting is proud to
announce the official relaunch of Country 103-5, a bold new evolution of one of
Halifax’s most recognized radio frequencies. Featuring a refreshed brand, updated
logo, and a completely reimagined sound, the All-New Country 103-5 delivers a
listener-first experience built on hit-driven country music, familiar favourites, and
today’s biggest songs.
At its core, Country 103-5 is designed to feel both comfortably familiar and
completely current—a station rooted in the music listeners already love, delivered
with a fresh, modern presentation. Drawing from a powerful mix of gold-era hits and
today’s chart-toppers, the station creates a soundtrack that reflects real life in
Halifax—memories, moments, and everyday connection.
A 100% Live and Local Lineup
Leading the relaunch is the return of Halifax radio legend Ian Robinson, who takes
over mornings with Halifax Mornings with Ian Robinson. Known for his decades-long
presence both on-air and as the iconic voice of the Mooseheads and Scotiabank
Centre, Robinson brings unmatched credibility, energy, and connection to the
community.
The new weekday lineup also features:
- Melody Rose moving into a live midday show, delivering warm, engaging, listener-
focused content that keeps Halifax connected through the workday
- Jody Tedford taking over afternoon drive, providing the perfect soundtrack and
local touch for the busy Halifax commute
This new structure ensures that Country 103-5 is live and local every weekday,
reflecting what’s happening in the city in real time—weather, traffic, events, and the
stories that matter most to listeners.
“Country 103-5 is built to be truly live and local—every break, every day,” said John
Ongaro, Program Director for Acadia Broadcasting. “We’re delivering a refreshed
library of hits from then and now, paired with personalities who know Halifax and
connect with the audience. This is a country music lover’s playlist through and
through.” Regional Manager, Eric Whynot says, “This refresh of our brand not only
creates a new, solid, 100% live line up, but we listened to the market and have a
product that country music fans spanning decades have a station they will call their
own because the music is comfortable, and the talent is live, familiar and local
throughout the day.”
Built on Listener Loyalty
The relaunch comes at a time when country music continues to demonstrate
exceptional audience loyalty across radio and streaming platforms. Country
listeners are among the most passionate and engaged in all of radio—forming deep
emotional connections with the music and the personalities who deliver it.
Country 103-5 is designed to meet that loyalty with a clear promise:
- Play the hits listeners already love
- Sound local in every moment
- Stay relevant to Halifax every single day
The result is a new station that feels both big and personal—a place where listeners
hear their music, their stories, and their city reflected back to them.
This is Where Real Country Lives in Halifax
With its refreshed identity and commitment to local connection, the All-New
Country 103-5 positions itself as Halifax’s home for country hits—focused, familiar,
and built for today.
Listeners can tune in now at 103.5 FM, online at country1035.ca, and across all
